“Did he just say I spit out shrimp?” – Understanding Rap

UnderstandingRap 366x500 Did he just say I spit out shrimp? Understanding Rap

Author William Buckholz of Seattle just published Understanding Rap: Explanations of Confusing Rap Lyrics You &  Your Grandma Can Understand. The book along with his Understanding Rap website offer literal translations of some of the more baffling rhymes in hip-hop.  The site and book allow your average white suburbanite Wheezy fan to understand what the hell me means when when he drops rhymes like “toss ya like fruit salad – strawberry grape ya,” which in fact means “that he will have you killed or hurt badly. By sayin he will stawberry grape you he is implying that he would make you bleed and beat out till the point of bruising which is most commonly found to be a reddish purple hue.”  …Who knew?

The book is now available at Amazon for $10.36.
