Check out the video for Raphael Saadiq‘s track Radio from his upcoming album Stone Rollin’. The video, along with the song, blends old school soul and modern elements together (a la Mayor Hawthorne) to create an entirely new– yet familiar sound. A motown revival? Check out this trailer for Peter Chang’s upcoming documentary “Children of Enlightenment.” The film covers Japan’s current creative revolution, as the Japanese people begin to reject the secure corporate jobs of the past, and assert their individuality in creative pursuits such as fashion, art, and music.
Brooks Saddles (the must have accessory for every hipster’s fixed gear bike) and Vans shoes have combined forces to create a pretty stunning collaboration. The result, a new Vans Era LX, has a striking resemblance to the Brooks seat all the way down to the the brass eyelets. Here’s an unexpected one. Part of the UNSTAGED series by American Express, The Roots & John Legend performed Arcade Fire hit Wake Up at Terminal 5 in New York City this week. While John Legend might not have that Arcade Fire edge, you’ve got to love the hard rock guitar and chilled out flow that he brings to the song. Stream the studio version above (featuring extended funk outtro) and then click through for the live “UNSTAGED” version. The full John Legend & The Roots collaboration album is available now for 9.99.

The album is getting tremendous reviews, even receiving perfect scores from both Rolling Stone and Pitchfork. If you’re thirsting for more Kanye after listening to the album, you’re in luck.
