Our apologies for the not-so-frequent posting as of late, but to be honest it’s just that we haven’t seen that much post-worthy stuff out there lately. We expect that to change with the Spring/Summer 2011 collections dropping soon, like these Connor boots from Pointer. We’re big fans of the moccasin-esque look of the boot.
Check out this snowboard boot collaboration from Burton and one of our favorites, Red Wing Shoes. The boots are based off the the classic Red Wing work boot silhouette and utilize the classic red leather colorway with a moc toe and traditional hiking laces. Looks like everyone, not only Nike, is getting into the stylized snowboard boot game.
We’re liking these Field Exo Boots by NYC brand VANE. They’re part of an ongoing collaboration with Sebago, with these being of VANE’s “The Dark Forrest” collection. The new kicks are hand sewn double quarter boots with waxed full-grain leather uppers and low-profile vibram rugged soles. Nike brings us their first ever platypus-inspired sneaker with the Air Force 1 Duck Boot. The mixture of classic duck boot and Air Forces will come in two colorways, black and brown. The combo carries over not just in design, but also functionality; the shoes feature a wool collar and thermal insulation as well as outer waterproofing. A release date hasn’t been officially announced but look for them to hit retailers soon.
We’re liking these brown suede chukka boots by Timberland. Part of their Abington collection (stemming from Timberland’s original name- “The Abington Shoe Company”), the boots are produced with premium leathers and suede from Charles F. Stead & Co. and manufactured with hand-sewn construction. Like any TImberland boot, they’re built to last. They come in brown and grey colorways and tend to go fast when they’re available, so head over to Bonobos for a pair while you can. $140
Despite their great cause, we’re yet to see a pair of TOMS shoes that we wouldn’t feel silly wearing out of the house. Until now, that is. Their grey Wool Fleck Botas bring a solid new style to the brand while continuing their praiseworthy mission of charity and the use of environmentally friendly materials. The Botas feature an upper made out of polyester and recycled plastic bottles, a faux shearling lining for warmth and comfort, and the classic TOMS suede insole. Lightweight yet warm, they might just be the perfect winter shoe… long as you stay on the beaten path. They’re available now for $80 at TOMS online. You’ll probably have to wait for a post-holiday restock though, as the shoes are currently sold out in most sizes.
